OFF LOADING
The above shows : look careful behind the boat is an anchor attached to a cable that leads from the winch under the boat to a block which the redirects the winch cable back to the rear of the cradle, this way it pulls the boat off, if your loading the winch or come along attaches to the front of the boat cradle pulling it on to the trailer.
The above: gives you a better look at the winch setup to pull the boat on, in this shot its pulling it off
The above: shows the trailer tilting up in the front as the load increases on the back, your best to block it up to the boat doesn't slide under your control
The above: we haven't blocked this boat and notice the rear wheels of the truck lifting
The above: Half way off its easer to use a small care jack, it will help roll it off, but be sure to have someone stop you short of the edge
The above: almost off and havnt broke a sweat
The above: Now your almost off, block it up off the trailer this way you now have control of how it will move, there are no blocks under the rear at this point, keep it on the ground.
The above: Now drive away slowly, and look she is off the trailer
The above: okay so now it off block the center of the boat just behind the above blocks, then jack up the front of the boat in the center, lift just enough to get the first set of blocks out, now lower it down, SLOWLY, when its down go to the rear center, jack up slowly just enough to slide the two blocks from the front under, and lower down. That's it your done, too load the boat do it all in reverse, the best advise I can give you is remeber do thing slowly , smoothly and remember the weight is in the keel that is the upper post balance the boat that's all. When strapping the boat, use at least 4000LBS straps and strap from the bow back, from the stern forward and cross stapes in the center and at front and back of straps, see the below photo, also remember if your towing more then what your vehicle weighs then make sure the trailer has brakes, you can rent a trailer like the one above at Carter Car and truck rental in Hamilton for approximately $60 day
